After downloading a zip file, please extract them in each respective folders. (For instance, papacy.zip could be extracted in a folder papacy, while babylon.zip could be extracted in a folder babylon. You could first create these folders before unzipping downloaded files). The extracted files are html-files. In each folder look after the index.htm and open it; index files are the first pages of each book.
