Thy Kingdom Come

heavenking.2In this sermon, we will talk about worldy kingdoms versus the Kingdom of God. It will only be an overview, since it could take months to share and discover the enormous truths and therefore it's implications, yet I believe it is of the upmost importance.

To begin with, we must understand that God is the establisher of all worldy governments. Sometimes, matter of fact, usually, those given this authority take advantage of this, such as Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4. Even though governments may not act Godly it doesn't mean that He hasn't established them.

In the Presence of Sin

dead tree.2Dear Reader,

Over the past several years there has been a fundamental change within in me when it comes to being exposed to sin. This applies to both that which I see within myself and even more so in how I relate to that which is around me.

In the past I found that it was easy to categorize the obvious outward blatant examples of sin and perversion that seems to be ever more obvious in the times in which we live, and instinctively was repulsed by it's display. Yet at the same time I made concessions to "smaller", less obvious examples of sin, simply because I myself was not willing for God to deal with them in my own life.

Sins of blatant evil are revolting to most humans regardless of their religious persuasion so in this context I wasn't any different than most people in the world. Mostly I felt good about this aversion to being in the presence of this kind of evil, and rightly so, but I found that my aversion to all things God considers sin was lacking.

Understanding The Curse

Dear Servant's Of The Most High,

curse.2Our understanding of original sin, and the consequences there of, is something that most people have difficulty balancing in light of God's grace and the new covenant. Many of us understand that the covenant of Abraham and the Mosaic Law does not apply to the new covenant believer, but rather it was fulfilled through the life of Jesus with him introducing to us the eternal principles and commandments of the Kingdom of God, commonly known as the "New Covenant" .

For centuries there have been theologians, preachers, and a myriad of other recognized or self appointed leaders who have promoted either a re-invention of a modern day "christianized" mosaic style of covenant typically with overtones of worldly government associations to the blatant merging of church and state. Or they go the other extreme with complete disregard for biblically based church structure and order adapting to the culture of the day or the latest revelation that God seems to have just revealed to one of his "devout" leaders.

You Do Have A Choice

choice.2And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. (Jos 24:15)
And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses. Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel. And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey. (Jos 24:21-24)

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Being new covenant saints, it is easy to miss the nuggets of truth we have recorded in the old testament. Even though we as gentiles, have never been under the covenant made with Abraham or with the nation of Israel, it still deals with people in covenant relationship with God Almighty and there is much we can glean from these relationships.

Choose God

woods.2Have you ever noticed that there are many people that claim they are Christians yet do not have the fruit to back it up? This seems to be even more evident for those that lay hold to the common cliche of being a "Born Again" Christian yet, outside of their assertion as such, they seldom show any traits that would be different than those that simply go through life ambivalent that there is even a God or Creator and many times they are people of relative or even low morals that hinder the redeeming message of the true gospel of Christ. Why is this?

Brief History of Anabaptists

anabaptist

Anabaptists were a large group of Christians who were active before and during the Protestant Reformation. As a group, Anabaptists no longer exist: they were almost completely exterminated during the Reformation. However, those who did survive those terrible persecutions have evolved into many different Christian groups who hold some or all of the Anabaptist ideals, notably Mennonites, the Amish, certain Brethren Churches, and others.
